Emergency Safety Measures

To ensure the safety of children and Supporters in the event of an earthquake or other emergency during childcare or tutoring services, please review the following items during the pre-service interview or first session.

1. Prepare an Emergency Go-Bag and Share Its Location

In case evacuation becomes necessary, please prepare an emergency go-bag in advance.

When booking a service, please inform your Supporter where the emergency bag is stored.

Examples of Emergency Go-Bag Contents:

• Drinking water and non-perishable food
• Important documents and valuables (cash, insurance cards, copies of your child’s insurance card, maternal and child health handbook, etc.)
• First-aid supplies (bandages, disinfectant, medications, etc.)
• Emergency equipment (helmet, emergency hood, work gloves, masks)
• Lighting and communication devices (flashlight, portable radio, spare batteries, portable charger)
• Clothing and daily necessities (clothes, underwear, towels, blankets, toiletries)
• Hygiene supplies (wet wipes, disposable warmers, portable toilet)

Additional Items Recommended for Families with Infants:

• Infant formula (cube-type or ready-to-feed liquid formula)
• Baby bottles (disposable bottles are recommended)
• Baby food, spoon, bowl, plastic wrap
• Diapers and odor-proof disposal bags
• Swaddle blankets and emergency thermal blankets

2. Confirm Evacuation Sites and Routes

To ensure smooth evacuation during an emergency:

• Identify the designated evacuation site in advance.
• Review maps or walk the evacuation route beforehand.
• Share evacuation routes with family members, children, and the Supporter.

3. Establish a Method for Safety Confirmation

During a disaster, phone networks may become congested.

• Please first use the platform messaging function to confirm safety.
• Emergency Message Dial (171) may also be used if available in your area.

4. Child Handover Procedures and Key Management

• Decide in advance where the child will be handed over after the situation has stabilized.
• Confirm how house keys will be handled if the Supporter needs to leave the service location.

5. Precautions When Evacuating

If evacuation becomes necessary, please discuss the following procedures with your Supporter to help prevent secondary damage:

• Turn off the gas supply.
• Switch off the electrical breaker.
• Unplug electrical appliances whenever possible.

Preparing in advance helps everyone remain calm and act safely during an emergency. We encourage families and Supporters to review these procedures together to create a safe and secure environment for your child.
